Any idea how to get this effect? I figure it requires fog - I got that working in SU, but SU's enviro sun is not casting visible rays through the fog. What am I missing?

maybe You're missing something that block the sun? as good ray is a beam of light..
in Octane You need a material with scattering & light - though if You lit up entire scene You'll see just a milky space - so You need some type of cloud layer (or simply some forms in space to block part of lighting =)

Thanks for the reply. Yeah - this scene is loaded with buildings and other elements that block the light. That's why I was stumped. Maybe I'll try some sort of cloud objects and see if I get any different results.

You need to play with scale of that scattering/absorption whatever - just to get those rays visible. Think there was some scenes around here in the forum, so if You interested search around =)

haven't seen for sketch up, but there's one for 3dsMax & if I'm not mistaking one for OctaneRender standalone - You can learn from those & transfer knowledge into plugin' as everything except UI is the same =)
