Hi,

It seems that there is a bug with the Carrara Octane Plugin and the smart content tab in combination with the new PostgreSQL content manager. Does anybody else experience this?

Just looking in to this myself wackymidget,

At first I had an error within the smart content telling me that CMS was not running so I resolved that and made sure it was auto starting, now all I am getting since doing a fresh install is blank/empty folders and catagorys as seen here..

I have done FULL reinstalls of the latest Daz studio and CMS & Carrara builds (issue came up after using daz DIM to reinstall Daz studio) I have remapped my folders, I have been through ALL the Database management options in Ds and grasped at a few other straws out of desperation! I wanted to try everything I could think of before bugging Sighman with it as I was not sure it was plugin related, I thought it more related to Daz & the install manager, what would I know though

DAZ Studio has switched the engine they use for smart content. Smart content won't be available in Carrara until they add the new engine to it. Hopefully, this will be done in the near future.

Smart content will work with Carrara (and in DS) if you use the old Valentina DB, But it you "upgrade" to the Postgres SQL database, you do indeed kill the use of smart content in Carrara. There are several threads over in th DAZ3D Carrara forum that discuss this, here is one that gives a bit of insight on when it "might" be fixed - http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewthread/41604/

On the upside, everything will still work via the old traditional "Content" tab - which I tend to use more because smart content isn't always so smart
