Best approach for glossy SSS.

Hi there, I am working on a bone material and was curious on what peoples thought on creating SSS materials. I have a glossy shader I am happy with but now want to add in SSS. what is the best approach?.. Starting over with a diffuse and mix it with a specular or to mix the glossy material that i have with a specular?

hi,
personally, for glossy sss materials i prefer to use only one specular node. theorically, the specular node can handle any kind of material and is the more powerful material node that we can have inside octane.
here is an example of only one specular material for skin, but you can obviously do any kind of variation:
