Something bizarre has happened to the OR environments in this project I'm working on. They now appear like this:

Default Daylight environment
Default Daylight environment (2)
Default Daylight environment (3)
Default Daylight environment (4)

Default HDR Texture environment
Default HDR Texture environment (2)
Default HDR Texture environment (3)
Default HDR Texture environment (4)

No environment.

Why have they changed and how do I get them back to normal?

It would appear as thou you have merged 3 other daz scenes.

Yes, I think that's what's happened. I was having problems loading figures saved as subsets because the OR materials saved with them were not loading so instead I merged them as scenes which does load the OR materials. If I do this will it effect my projects? Can I just delete these extra environments? I'm worried I've broken the first rule of DAZ Studio (or even maybe 3D modelling) - never merge scenes!

It's like the Render Settings. If you create a new setting for default and leave the name unchanged (Default Render setting), and save that under My Presets, your "new" default when you open any scene will be "Default Render setting (2)." It's the same thing it does for material names, as well. Just listing a duplicate entry. As long as the settings are correct for what you want your environment to be, there's likely no need to get rid of the extras. Unless they are drastically different, or the extras really bother you, it's just the same setting duplicated numerous times.
