Hi Guys,

I have some questions about Octane Demo for maya 2015 I did a scene test and so far all good excellent renders and faster, the point is when I try to render a batch render to see a animation ( just to see if Octane can fit into the pipeline) maya start the batch but I have images save anywhere no image at all. I would like to know if is a demo limitation or a actual bug.

I check is not a maya problem because other renders work all just Octane doesn't. I try see if windows lock Octane and not windows doesn't again maybe is a limitation but I didn't see write anywhere way the question.

I would like by the license for feature jobs , but if is complicate to render out sequences from the actual maya plug is add constrains to the workflow if I need export all to the standalone version.

Thank you for your amazing job so far. Hope figure out this issue. Maybe something I most forget to doing or just a demo limitation.

Best
Jo :D

Hi Jo,

Yes this is a demo limitation, none of the demo's can save out renders.

Hi Jo,

Sorry, I don't quite understand your question.
Purchasing a 2.x license now will get you all 2.x upgrades for free (3.0 will be the next paid upgrade).
To run the 2.x Maya plugin you will need to get a "combo" (Standalone + Maya plugin license).

Ok, good information and thank you sorry for my bad English  hehe, about the version for maya in demo I couldn't find the new option as fur, displace, subdiv, because I check at the web site not all version fully with new update integrated, "* => 2.0 available (others soon to follow)" for the moment I saw Max and others but not maya my question was if is already available or I need wait. For a future version.

Thanks again :D

'with alls option of 2.0 of Octane'

Most off the features of Octane Standalone are available in the Maya plugin.

The current maya plugin uses 2.04 engine, so it's worth noting that if you are looking to network render, you'll be using the 2.04 Standalone app too.

And I don't the think full motion blur is available in Maya's IPR at the moment.

The plugin works pretty well overall, but there are some nice features in other apps (like Lightwave and C4D) where you have procedural displacement (through some clever baking) which aren't available in Maya.

cheers,

Steve
