Hello,
How do you use color correct node to change the color of a given material without loosing its texture? (much like photoshop when you use a plain color layer and blend it using the color option)
I've used the mix material with color correction node on 2nd material, but I get the same result as if I just mixed them with an RGB color, and my woods end up loosing much of its grain/texture in favor of the plain color..

yes that's it, not just a combination where you mix plain color with the texture

What about having one material with the texture and switch the power node to RGB node and use that to control color and brightness. Will this work.
That's not what I suggested - look at my graph:waterthinking wrote:the way you sugest you loose detail on the texture. please look at the comparison on the image attached. the result is the same as if you were mixing with a plain color node..
- There's only one material (Glossy), not a mix.
- In the Glossy material's diffuse node, plug in a Multiply texture.
- In the Multiply texture, Input should be the RGB Image. Scale should be an RGB color. (Or you can reverse the order, it doesn't matter.)
If you multiply the image by pure white (R/G/B 1/1/1), you will get the original image. If you reduce one color channel like 1/1/0.5, the blue channel in the image will be reduced, so it will look more yellow. If you multiply it by 1/0/0, then only the red channel in the image will show up.
A Mix isn't going to get what you're looking for, if you mix a solid color and an image...
