Hallo.

I have played a bit with the demo for Cinema 4D and I'm liking it a lot. I have a few questions before I buy.

I found the matte material to be fantastic! Capturing shadows from GI can be a challenge in C4D, with Octane it's a breeze. I can get by with an AO, shadow and object pass if I have to, but having access to other passes would be great. Are there any plans to extend multipasses within 2.x? And speaking of passes, I couldn't get alpha to work with an AO pass?

How do upgrading work? Are they free from 2.0 to 2.whatever, or do I have to pay for each step? C4D r16 is right around the corner, will that be a free upgrade of Octane or should I wait?

Thank you :)

Hi,

Glad to hear that you liked current features. Regarding to questions: You can enable alpha in info kernel settings.
But demo is always old rather then current version. Maybe something is missing than current version.

Soon we will get a update for full featured multipasses. Also all 2.x updates will be free. even for R16, current R15 version is working with R16. Is it enough for you?

Best

Oh there is one more thing. Is camera mapping possible?
Other then that, that about covers it. I can't wait to get a copy :)

you can use standart camera mapping or it's possible via texture projection node.
