Hello everybody,

I think I saw a post concerning this problem but can not find it.

My Problem is that the scene looks nice after about 500 samples already, but the glas material still is grainy. Even after 2000 samples there is some grain on the glas left :( I attached a screenshot and a test scene with the glas material I used.

Has anybody got some advice on how to achieve less grain on glas materials?

A great many thanks
Ralf

Try with falloff map in opacity layer, I do so but I would like to know is there any better solution. For me only problem in octane is because is not so easy to achieve realistic result with glass with small samples amount for animation ( 500-1000 ).

Cheers

You can also try the fake falloff glass material from the DB and tweak its settings slightly. We have found this material to be a (for us) reasonable middle ground between realism, speed and accuracy of reflections.
