I couldn't see enough features in V2 to justify upgrading as I am just a hobbyist but, although I have noticed that there are a lot of updates coming out for V2, there doesn't seem to be any activity around v1.55. I was just wondering whether Otoy are still looking at some of the issues as regards stability in V1.55 or is it now officially abandoned in favour of v2? I keep coming back here to see if there are updates but no point in doing that if Otoy do not intend to work on existing issuesin 1.55, so, would appreciate any confirmation of this.
Thanks
is version 1.55 still being supported?
We have made over 5 updates to 1.5.x to address post release issues that have been reported to us. Can you please be more specific about what you are running into?

Hi
There are a number of issues I run into regurlary( I'm using the Mac version on OSX Mavericks)
1/ intermittent crashes - hard to reproduce but I'll be connecting different nodes and it will just crash out back to the desktop for no reason
2/ if I load an HDR file and it's too big for the memory, the octane will not render. Even if I load a smaller HDR or remove the HDR altogether it will not render. The only way is to restart (and lose any work). I'm assuming memory isn't cleaned up properly after removing HDR environments
3/ sometimes when I load large HDRs, Octane just crashes straight to the desktop
4/ if I change the resolution of an image to a large resolution then change it down, the render window isn't centered any more and you lose part of the image off the bottom. the only way to fix this is to start octane again

'Inline node preview' state isn't stored when switching between material nodes, or this small preview area remains empty (black) until I click on 'Preview in 2D' / 'Preview on a sphere' buttons. Can you please be more specific about what you are running into?
