Is there a way to see which texture from a material is being displayed in the viewport?

It seems to show the diffuse texture by default but many times you aren't using a texture in the diffuse slot (glass, liquid or lights, for example)so it makes it tough adjust texture placement via UV's and whatnot.Sorry if this is obvious and i'm just missing it! Thanks.

I usually just set the map temporary in the diffuse.
for an exampel.
If i need to adjust a normalmap, I hook it upp to the diffuse channel, adjust it. Then hook it back into the normalmap channel.
Don't know if there is a better way to do this but since I don't do it that often it works fine.
