Hi, how about Opensubdiv implementation ?
Have you decided if opensubdiv will be a modifier or something else ??
There is a guy Makoto Chiba from MagicPictures Studio, Inc. http://www.magicpics.com who had develop an opensubdiv modifier for 3ds max. he said that the only limitation is the 3ds max viewport renderind api to get full performance from gpu mode...maybe you can contact him to support his plugin ?
He said that it will free.

A OpenSubdiv implementation already exists: http://www.mariussilaghi.com/products/turbosmooth-pro
It lacks the viewport limitation as well. Right now it's a modelling aid, and it has a really nice 'linear UVs' option so they don't distort like they do with Turbosmooth etc.

HI,
i already know this plugin by marius silaghi, first it's not free and not complete, there is only the creasinge edge feature, and no gpu acceleration, no tessellation, and it can't be exported to another soft ... that's why i think makoto's implementation is more efficient, and advanced.
To complete this a link of makoto's opensubdiv work : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaOz2RWSW04
Regards.

finally autodesk has released Opensubdiv in 3ds max 2015 extension 1. As expected it doesn't work in octane ... so do you plan to suppport it, or create your own opensubdiv modifier ?
Juste an update, when operating mode is set to mesh ouput it works, gpu display doesn't.
