how to turn off the reflection?

i set specular to 0
but material still have a reflection
Y?

I can not use greyscale images like masks?

Hi,

This is because of the material type used, it's a glossy layer ontop of a diffuse material, it's always glossy.
You can turn up the roughness slider to make it look more like a diffuse.

You can map all channels with images...

I think he's asking if it's possible to use a grayscale image to make only some part reflect and not other.

With mix material you will be able mix glossy and diffuse materials.

White will make make the material diffuse, and black will make it specular/reflective if you map the roughness with a black and white map.

Use a checker, you will see what I mean.

Then apply the inverse to the specularity.
