Howdy,
so what can we do now with Octane 2. I upgrade yesterday caus the special offer was about to expire. But what can I actually do with it?
I assume Jacksh*t with the DS plugin atm.
But what with the standalone? Is it possible to add multiple obj's to the scene yet? The only real problem I had with it, is that I couldn't move created mesh lights. Everything had to be saved into one obj and nothing could be moved.
Thanks,
Elele.

The OcDS plugin uses whatever version of Octane is built into it, currently 1.2 if I recall correctly.
If you use the stand alone of 2.0, you can load multiple objects. I have done a couple of images this way. It is a bit harder to position things, but it works. In this one: http://fav.me/d7mgq55 I loaded the room, the character and the robot from separate .obj and then arranged them in the Octane view port.
Ciao

It's always been possible to load in multiple objects in the standalone.
Each single object is a mesh node.
You make them visible at the same time by linking them to the same group node.
You can change the position of each node by using a placement node. You connect the mesh node to the placement node to the group node. You can then change the parameters of the placement node to move the mesh around.
It just works a little differently than Daz and you have to get used to it.
