Hi,

when I saw the offer to get Octane for 50€ I had to buy it. First I did was to put my Stargate I modelled a few years ago into Octane. And yes, I'm really impressed.

I have some questions about Octane.

First: It doesnt look like Octane supports smoothinggroups, right?

Second: How can I merge multiple .obj to one scene?

Hope you like the renderings ;)

wow, good modeling there :)
1) It does, go to File -> Obj import preferences -> interpolate with smoothgroups.
Otherwise if you're exporting from your host app it depends if it has an exporter plugin for octane or not. (currently in development)
2) At the moment no, all your models have to be contained into one .obj before importing in Octane.
but it will be implemented in a future release I think.

Has the multiple obj's in one scene (all obj's renderable) been implemented yet?

Thank You

Yeah, like a year and half ago. Plug objs into Geometry Group node. Use Placement nodes for each that need moved, in between obj and group node.
