Hi, sorry for my bad English (I use google translator to help me).

I need to install the software on a computer temporarily, other than a computer that I use in the future.
But before doing damage, I wanted to know if I can migrate my license from one computer to another later.

Thank you

@Radiance: So basically it is possible to move a licence more that those three times from one to another machine
- I mean what happens when I upgrade my computer a few times until Octane 2.x is released?

Reinstalling windows on a none modified computer won't count as a second time, will it?
(basically the question for me is, how the Ocatne licence bound to my computer (hardware configuration, registry, or what ever))

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm not at liberty to discuss how the security system works,
but you can reactivate up to 3x (but not all at once, eg there has to be a period in between, eg a reason, like a hardware change) and after that we will review your application.

The licensing looks a little bit restrictive to me. Can’t expect the friendly licensing scheme the luxology uses I suppose, but perhaps something similar to zbrush could be implemented. There would be times when I would love to run this software on my laptop instead of my workstation but the current scheme won’t let me. Looked at getting more licenses but after missing out on the special price last week it started to look a bit steep :-)

Hey,

I think even without the finished 50% off discount our pricing scheme is still interesting enough to warrant additional machine licenses.
Our competitors have the same licensing scheme (not all of them, but 'most' external renderers) and they charge 5x to 20x as much per seat.

I usually give maintenance every four or five months to my PC, formatting and reinstalling Windows and all the software that I use as 3dmax or maya. Would I be able to use my license with my PC again after the changes or do i have to request another activation key?

I understand and agree that your software has a system of protection. I need to know if your protection system is related to hardware or software.

It would be great if only for hardware, then, I assume I will not have problems, but i need to know if it is software so i can make provisions by doing a more extensive maintenance.

Awaiting your prompt response.

thx

Hi,

As said the protection is hardware based, so reinstalling your OS won't change the key.
