Hi all,

Is there any update on the obj import features at all?

I've been away and out of the loop. Unfortunately I use a different app, than Lightwave,
with Octane now. I found the import feature slowed me way down. Lightwave just gathers dust.

Of course it may be that I'm just slow on Lightwave in general. Any ideas?

thanks.

Now you have an option in the octane materials that imports and link the first "T" texture layer available in the LW surface. This feature could help with the imported .obj files.

I took this question to be about using stuff from Lightwave, in Octane Standalone. As there used to be an importer for that. If that is what you're asking, give up and buy the Lightwave Plugin, it is super awesome and can do a fair few things standalone can't.

Hi,

well.. the issue for me is importing small to large scenes in obj format into LW OCTANE
plugin.

I've tried it -- and it was a complete tangle of spaghetti. Far, far too many objects to make it time efficient. It looked like the node work would take hours.

I think it would need a script to do all the work. Unfortunately, probably beyond the scope of
this plugin.

1. I guess I would hope that LW stock renderer gets a overhaul/ speed boost. Is that on the horizon?

2 - Is it permissible to sell plugin licenses ?

thanks
