This is what I get after 1h of rendering

Image

Is there a "burn" setting somewhere ?

Also is the engine limited to 16000 samples per pixel ? I reached 9000 in a hour so after 2 hours the render would stop ? what about the remaining noise ?

Hey,

Nice render. :)

The engine is not limited to 16000 samples/px no,
it's the the UI slider currently.
I need to add some non-linear sliders so i can increase some sliders like max samples and maxdepth and still keep it useable with low amounts.

I'm pretty happy with the time though,
remember that this is rendered without portals :)

The MLT sampling enabled in the first commercial beta's will also speed interiors like this up a lot.

Yes I know gk I used noise ninja or neat image with maxwell renders and it help but you lose details (what plugin you used ?)

Ok radiance good to know

What about the burned part of the image ? in maxwell there is a "burn" setting to reduce overexposed part of the image

there's no burn slider in octane,
i'd reduce the exposure a teeny bit and play with the gamma to adjust it...

radiance, after commercial beta, you will stop releasing free demos? maybe it's not the best idea? i know, 99$ price is like a gift in CG, but all your dreams for 99$ is suspicious and looks like only a promise, selling your great program to people, who think that great soft must have ultra-great price. I don't want to tell that you must raise your price, but if i can download your program, even if it's functions are very reduced, try it, get sure that it truly do what i need with great speed and how i need, and then only buy.

we'll always supply demo versions, to allow people to get a feel for octane and to test if it works on there HW.
the beta will be 99 Euro, not 99 $, and the final version will be 199 Euros...

I don't know why but I have problem with smoothing groups of my objects (were fine in 3dsmax) so I had to turn off the bool smoothing option of octane
