The current limitation is about 19mio (unique, i.e. not instanced) triangles. So you are probably not hitting that limit.

My guess is the TDR timeout of windows kicking in. To solve it, please run the Octane Standalone installer. It will set the TDR timeout to 10s, which should be enough in most cases (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-nz/library ... 85%29.aspx).

The scene you posted contains only textures. I also have only C4D R14 available so if you could reduce the scene as much as possible (but still showing the problem) and then export it as .orbx, we can have a look if we can reproduce and fix the problem.
HW problem would be possible if I always got errors while using all 3 cards.
But I get errors only while using heavy cloners.
When I decrease thic cloner here to 30 clones it works, but with 50 clones it doesn't.

Don't you see there is some sort of Octane problem when calculating many light bounces??
It could be a bug of course, but first try to set the TDR timeouts correctly and if that doesn't help, try to export a scene that allows us to reproduce the problem.

@Abstrax:

Two days ago I have given TdrDelay: 0 value as well as timeout.
Unfortunatelly no effect.
Turning TdrLevel off - hangs system permanently.

Yesterday I've formated my PC. And installed Windows 8.1. (I used Windows 7 before)

In general this system performs better and I didn't instal any plugins into C4D so I have clean Cinema+Octane.

I've set TdrDelay to 100 now. It worked for a "trees" scene.
But with "yacht scene" the one I mentioned in the beginning of this post - render just hangs after some amount of spp.

Aoktar has this scene and forwarded it to Otoy team, so maybe you could have a look at it?

I wasn't aware that the scene was from you. There is a bug in 2.02 that can cause displacement mapping to end up in an infinite loop and eventually crash the driver. We fixed the problem yesterday and we hope to make a new release as soon as possible.

I'm using 2.03 now.
I just made a test. All's fine!

Forgot to mention: Thanks OTOY Team and Ahmet ;)

you're welcome.
2.04 is better for some visual artifacts on displacement

I have been getting 702 errors with files that have displacement. Octane 2.06 and the most recent plugin.
I tried increasing the tdrdelay with no luck and now when the error happens my computer freezes where as before the gpus would fail, and I could restart the scene. I have changed the tdrdelay back to 10 but it will completely lock up (freeze)

any advice..? naturally this comes at a deadline. :)

try to lower displacement amount
