Just letting you know, caus the seperate plugins are a lot more expensive. I think there might be a way to upgrade from the fruity version to the other budles if you want to later on. Not sure, but I think I read that somewhere when I was looking through the versions.
I think you can keep using the demo too. It has all the features and it even lets you save files, but you won't be able to reopen files if it made use of any of the plugins in demo mode.

"I think my mistakes have made it take about 5 times longer than it should have, but there's close to no info at all out there that I've found, so it's all trial and error, it's taken me weeks so far. "
Thats pretty much the way I learn this stuff :D

I normally use PMC, the pathtracing was just for the animation. Though I'm still just leaving it at the default values. Thought there might have been a "remove grainy" button that I missed :D
I've been planning to try out the settings... later... always later :D

Thanks for letting me know about the swimsuit. It is still showing as being in QA for me, so maybe they aren't done yet. I'll check to see what is going on (though I fear that for this time the textures might have to be downloaded again, but hopefully not for following updates)

I haven't bought the Fruity version yet, so it's all good. Yes you can upgrade between the versions, read that on the site, there's also a number of plugin bundle discounts, buy 3+ of a certain type and get 30% off etc, but noway near the discount on the signature version, so if I really want Sakura and Ogun I'll have to work out either a 3rd plugin or do Sytrus+Fruity, but I'm not sure that last option is very good value, but that's something to worry about later after demos and such.

Only settings I ever change under Kernel are the type, maxdepth, maxsamples and sometimes the alphachannel.

In celebration of the download finishing I did this (took a few hours), unfortunately non-daz characters (theses are all PA ones) + autofollow = a bit wonky or in the case of my character (starting from G2F base) very wonky:

Those are some lovely ladies :)

QA says the new product shouldn't delete the old texture files. I didn't have a problem either I must say. Do you organise your runtimes in a different way?

I don't use the standard install location, but other than that it's unchanged, just separate runtimes for things installed by DIM and things installed by hand from zip files.

Alright it's out of QA now. It will indeed delete the previous version textures, but from now on new updates won't require you to download the textures again :)

Hmm, dunno why it got into DIM before it was out of QA... Should be the very last time you need to download it though, sorry.
Do you need to download it? Maybe last weeks version will work with the new files?

Seems to work fine just downloading part 1. But if I ever want to get it out of the update list, then I'll need to download part 2 at some point.

New turntable :)

A bit dissapointed that I wasn't able to add spec maps or things like that to the ground plane, since it wouldn't animate. So I created a quick texture instead so it wouldn't look like the car was slipping over the floor.

Looking good, I can't claim to personally like the car, but as a promo it's very nice.
