Is there a way to duplicate an Octane material in the SketchUp plugin? Seems pretty basic, but I can't find it.

Hi jscottsmith,

This feature is on the roadmap, I plan to implement it with "Ctrl-C", "Ctrl-V" keys.

Cheers

Hi jscottsmith,

I'm wondering what's your use-case? I usually download a LiveDB material and then tweak it a bit. When I need a similar material - say in a different colour - I just download that same material again since the plugin allows for duplicate downloads, and tweak away. But for materials already refined just needing a slight alteration, copy & paste would be a great feature.

It's the last case you described. Say I have defined a nice trim paint material and want to make another with only the color changing. Or, maybe I just want to add displacement to turn it into lap siding, but nothing else is different.

Well, if they were liveDB materials, you just download again, rename and tweak away. If created from SU, different story.

True. In this case however, I had already tweaked the downloaded material and would rather not have to write down all the parameters. Also, the issue I reported here prevents me from downloading from LiveDB.

Ah. We'll have to wait for Fuzzy's copy & paste then.
