how do i change parts of a scene without losing material assignments?

so let's say i import a building, create and assign all my materials and then i decide i want to modify the outline of the building. can i delete the wall and import a new one (i couldn't find a delete button anywhere)?

will instances be supported in the V1 release (or in the near future?)

can materials be saved in libraries and reused?

are there any controls to keep lines vertical (keep camera level and perpendicular to a given object)?

can i match the Octane camera to a modo one?

Hi,

You relink.
At the end of the meshnode, there's a relink button.
click it, load the new OBJ file and it will replace the geometry while keeping your octane materials attached, these are reattached by the material name,
so make sure you have unique material names.

Instances are scheduled for beta 3
loading/saving materials are for beta 2.3 (the one coming next)

just click on the meshnode, and scroll all the way down in the inspector on the right, you'll see a little icon with an arrow pointing to a disk drive, that's the relink button.
