I am very interested in this renderer for Lightwave but I get an error when trying to load the plugin (in my Lighwave/bin folder).

Message is "Cannot load external plug-in file <C:\Graphics\Lightwave 11\bin\octane.dll>" Then "0 plugins loaded".

I have installed the demo stndalone version of Octane as well.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Hi, does the standalone demo work ok? Can you get it to render?

Thanks
Chris.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the prompt response.

I haven't tried the standalone demo as yet - will give it a try this evening.

I also forgot my machine specs:-
Windows 8.1 x64
Nvidia GTX580 + GTS250
24Gb RAM

Thanks.

The standalone demo works just fine - no problems there. :)
Just have to get the plugin loaded into LW - hope it works but if not I need some assistance if anyone can help...

Thanks

Hi, for the lightwave plugin did you follow the installation instructions here: http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Lightwave3D/?page_id=39
Do you need to install the Visual C++ 2012 SP4 Re-distributable?

Thank you so very much FooZe! :D
It was the VC++ redistributable that was the issue..
I am very pleased that you took the time and effort to help me - it is very much appreciated!
Now to play! LOL!
All the best.

Opps ... I had not seen this thread, sorry. I am glad that you have fixed your problem. If you need more information about the plugin, please let me know.
