The performance on Fermi is the same in the Kepler cards with Octane?
Hi, the answer is no =) every card differs. fermi & kepler are two different architecture. Kepler came optimised for efficiency, it has way more cores, that are not as powerful (580 is about the speed of 680, but if You would notice core count..). Someone put that a fermi core could looselly be compared to 3 cores from kepler architectrue =)
The best value today (if You are working with bigger scenes & need more vram) comes from 780 6GB. Fastest would be 780Ti (only 3 GB) & Titan Black (6gb too, but higher price compared to 780 6gb). 580 (3gb) seems a good deal & performance wise it's still ~half of Titan. If You're lucky, You can fing it online for around 200-250$, & that's not bad =)
hope it helped a bit, but If You have any other questions, drop a line =)
