Hi all,
maybe a dumb question here, but does selecting 'Use Priority' in the CUDA devices, give more priority to the render or the system?
The manual says:
'The render priority option can throttle down rendering on one or more GPU’s to improve system responsiveness especially when rendering on a GPU used for the display.'
Does this mean selecting the priority option throttles down the rendering and gives more to the system?
And if so, I guess you deselect this when setting off final renders.
cheers,
Steve

basicaly the button is there to improve system responsiveness while You have something to tweak =) I leave that all the time..I don't remember exactly, but that doesn't influence speed that much =) for some this button doesn't make any difference & the bottom line it is recomended to have separate GPU for screen to get the best experience.prodviz wrote:Hi all,

The best thing is to have a cheaper display card just for your display so you can use Octane seamlessly. But, if you don't have one, you can turn priority to low (make sure use priority is checked in the preferences). This will give more priority to your system so you can use it more efficiently while using Octane.
