I just installed the Poser plugin for Octane and am running into issues getting the video card to connect with the renderer. I'm able to load the Octane Render Setup window, but when I choose viewport nothing happens, and eventually a pop-up stating the video card isn't responding and needs to be reset comes up. I reset the card, and still no improvements. I'd greatly appreciate any tips/suggestions. My specs are below:

- Windows 64-bit OS
- NVIDIA GeForce 210, 24 CUDA cores, driver v. 337.88
- Poser Pro 2014 v. 10.0.3.26510 (this is the most up-to-date version)
- Octane plugin v. 2.2.0.20

When I check the log, it says "device 0: failed to find a CUDA binary matching compute model 1.2
I have no idea what this means. Am I missing part of the CUDA toolkit?

Do I need to reinstall the plugins? Poser itself?

Thanks in advance.

Yikes, that is an old card! According to nVidia's website, the 210 only supports CUDA compute model 1.2 (https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus), which is unsupported in Octane versions 1.21+ (see http://render.otoy.com/faqs.php). You might want to download the v1.20a plugin and see if that works.

But I'd recommend getting an upgrade - with so few cores, Octane will probably run slower than a CPU pathtracer!

Eeep, that's no good then. Thanks so much for the fast reply - I think I'll just go purchase a new graphics card. I knew it was a bit out of date, but all I saw was "CUDA support" and thought I'd be able to delay a bit more.

Thanks again for your help!

If you go to the "Devices" tab of the plugin, it will firm the "Compute Model" of the card. If it's 1.2, try an early version of the plugin. I think http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=34442 was the last version of 1.20 I built - but a new video card will give you a vastly better results (since your current card will be pretty slow compared with even a low-end 700 series card).
