This is used when navigating the scene in realtime is a little hard because you have a very complex scene or low GPU power.
It lowers the resolution of the render while your moving the camera around so that it gets smoother to navigate.
Generally it's not needed and is a legacy feature.

Not needed? If that feature wasn't there, I wouldn't have been rendering some heavy scenes in Octane that's for sure. Maybe someday when you have scenes where your navigation is down to 1 fps I'm sure you will love that feature. 4x4 subsampling is the first thing I check when opening any scene. It's just way faster to navigate in. I even would like to see 8x8 subsampling in the future.FooZe wrote:Generally it's not needed and is a legacy feature.
