Fantastic render, once again, Enrico ! I like the design and the 'unpolished'/industrial aspect of the materials !!

Beautiful work!
I'd be interested in hearing more about the process of your designs; not only are the images great quality in terms of renders, they are also very nicely designed, lit and composed. Do you have a interior/graphic/photography/architectural design background?
I must ask; are you happy with the final integration of the 2D people?
Also, why not use PMC/path-tracing? Are the results of these methods vs difference (to DL-AO)in qualtiy negligible?
Love the images; the detail is fantastic.
Best wishes
Marc

Well I have a few graphic and photography background.
I'm not that happy with the 2D people integration, usually I add them in post production which offers much more control on the process to make them match with the overall colors and lighting but in this project I decided to use billboard and to render them with the scene. The main problem is to find 2D images better fitting the scene from light and colors point of view and this was my main issue. Also to render them with the scene I had to create a node structure to be able to rotate them all together to make them matching with the camera.
For external renders I think that PMC or paht-tracing don't bring so much, for interior I should indeed have used PMC but the render time is so huge that I quickly abandoned the idea. By the way I was surprised by the result using AO, though some indirect lighting would for sure have brought more realism and deepness.

very nice interiors
I think you applied a very dramatic post, too strong tonal contrast.
