Impressive!
You did the grass via displacement? Cool idea - was always sticked to hair for grass. How do you get the different color shading in the green? Or is it just the light that makes the variation? How must the displacement map look like? Only small dots in different shades of grey?
Would appreciate getting your comment to this image I made ( if you don't mind ...)

Thanks Ron,
The displaced grass is a 10 year old vray trick. =] It's good for large areas, but due to the vectors only traveling in the z-axis (up), it's not always suitable for closeups.
Here are the maps.
Love your renderings, will comment on your thread.

Looks nice. But the pig caring the plate is just WRONG. I prefer it the other way around

LoL! Then you'll love this horse-lamp: http://render.otoy.com/forum/download/f ... &mode=view00Ghz wrote:Looks nice. But the pig caring the plate is just WRONG. I prefer it the other way around

I never used Vray - therefore this technique was not appropriate to me cause regular C4D displacement means lots of polys.
Thank you for sharing your maps, will try the right now.

The bark displacement is pretty cool. And I love the horse-lamp shot!

Looks great O!
And here's another source for a displacement grass map that I posted a couple weeks ago, if you want to give it a go: http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=40508

A test animation (when I should be working =).
Approximately 17-18 mins per frame on 2 Titans. (PT 1000 samples)
Approximately 4:20 mins per frame on net render with 10 Titans.(PT 1000 samples)
-not sure if this was a windows problem, but seems the render would hang until we came in the next morning and restarted the file. Could be windows sleep mode?
Will keep playing.
