I'm using the 1.20 plugin (education version), and exporting an OCS invariably crashes Maya. Is there a fix for this, or is OCS export unsupported in this version?

Seriously, has no one attempted to export an OCS from Maya?

Does it work in 1.55?

I have successfully exported from both 1.20 and 1.55 here using the commercial version. Have you tried exporting different scenes to make sure it's not an issue with your scene (that wouldn't mean it's not a bug but may narrow down the problem)

Thanks for the reply. I think it was a combination of a problematic scene and Maya getting "stuck." After the first crash, it crashed every time - literally, Open Maya -> Create Cube -> Export as OCS -> crash.

I've since discarded the scene, and after a reboot it seems to work fine.

[Edit] I spoke to soon. Turns out it crashes whenever I assign any material to a mesh. For example:

1. Create a polygon (e.g., sphere).
2. Assign any material to it (including an Octane material).
3. File -> Export All... -> Save as OctaneRender scene.

Maya immediately crashes, but not before producing a file with an odd suffix attached, like "sphere.ocsa04256". Has anyone else experienced this?

Probably a silly question, but did you have materials attached to any objects?

[Edit2] Also tried downloading the 1.55 demo, and I get the error "// Error: line 0: Could not save file "sphere.orbx". //" whether I assign materials or not. Is Octane scene export disabled in the demo? (Would make sense, but wanted to confirm.)
