sometimes thumbnails white and objects in view port black

Hey aoktar.

For some time now I'm trying to figure out these problems and i can't seem to get a hold of it:

1:
My material preview thumbs mostly work super fine, but every now and then thumb with images in diffuse channel turn white in the material manager. no way for me to control why and when this happens, as the problem comes and goes...

2:
In the view port these white materials turn black, but the next day, as textures get relinked and white materials in material manager show diffuse-image-texture again, the objects in the viewport stay black for a random time after.. sometimes it takes 10 minutes for them to be textured in the pictureviewer again...

do you know this problem?

Hi,
I have notified sometimes a black preview is appearing in many materials. But not every materials. Still cannot figured why this happens. I'll keep my eyes open to find the problem.

ok. so im not alone here..
and the white material previews? i attached a screenshot...
they come and go... some take a veeery long time to reappear correctly by themselves after updating the material once..., some others return quickly.. all textures are sorted by model in subfolders of the "tex" folder. and the problem only happens with image-texured materials (of any kind: alpha, diffuse, spec....)

so. my update so far: black objects happen only, if octane looses the connection to image textures somehow... test this: if an object appears black in picture viewer, try to update the material-thumbnail by doubleclicking. in my case it c4d-octane never able to do so, and just shows "whitish" material preview without any error-code or so.

Just to add to this, as I was emailing with Moritz about it the last couple of days.

I've not had time to troubleshoot it properly but I think it gets worse (or possibly only happens) when the 'tex' folders has subfolders so the texture have to be found on another level of folder structure.

Working with a lot of textures it's really important to keep organised so I hope this doesn't continue to be a big problem. Just something to look into!
