Nice work, but i find it strange that it took 30 minutes to render that scene with a GTX470...
what kind of environment map did you use ?

Why you guys just render,...and not model a scene yourself ? It's no longer a chalenge to light a scene...I am confused...

It looks better on Fran's blog.

Nice question actually...if I can find an answer to that I would be amazed or throw my GTX470 out of the windows (NEVER!) anyway attached is the Hdri I used AND the scene http://imaginedesignsltd.co.uk/Mugs.rar

and to GeorgoSK:

It has been modelled by me with Rhino, of course it looks better on Fran's blog (but not very far from it), it has a very good balance and god knows which HDRi is the author using, and one more..how long has Fryrender been around?........ :geek:

Lighting a scene could be tricky no matter which software yo use, is actually the key element to produce a good render and in this scene I only play a bit around with the HDrI images I have...so no real challenge for sure but not so easy as it looks....

It should be there already.. but you should open it in Octane...and you need Rhino SR7 (SR8 out now)

I guess the scene is alright, 8000spp is just quite a lot.
I rendered it on my 8800gts for 20 minutes to 1000spp and couldn't see a difference between your image and mine after some noise reduction in photoshop…

(also the mugs are pretty polygon heavy, but that does not decrease the performance as far as I can tell)
