OctaneRender™ Standalone 2.01 - updated
Had a look at the image texture problem again and it's caused by image texture nodes that don't have an image (because it couldn't be loaded or because it wasn't provided). In the past the image texture was rendered as 70% grey, now it causes the kernel to fail.

Thanks for the update, including the displacement height entry fix. No more crashing when clicking in the adjustment fiel

It's not a bug, but a limitation. Currently you can use only image texture nodes.vipvip wrote:hi,
it was a problem on the lightwave plugin with the 'mix texture " node, not wotking with displacement, apparently coming from an octane-core bug. Any news about that ?
Thanks

Regarding the opacity problem, I tested with the last 2.01 version and the opacity problem is still there. I PMed you an orbx test file.abstrax wrote:We found an issue where "in-memory" image textures will cause the render kernel to fail. Could that be the issue here? If not, if you could provide us with an example scene we can have a closer look.enricocerica wrote:No more texture limit !? Well this is one very good news.
I made a quick test with a scene I'm working on and I meet some issues with at least one opacity texture not working, all the others seem to work fine, strange. I tried to reload it without success, when I use the previous version it works fine. Can't give more details about this problem.
Not much we can say here. BSODs are usually caused by driver issues. Which driver did you install? Maybe try a clean install of a different one (don't forget to disable SLI afterwards). Also keep in mind that you should run the Standalone installer at least once to set up theAlso, no change regarding the problem I met with the previous version : http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 60#p191253TdrDelay
correctly in the registry. Otherwise you may run into issues using displacement mapping.
Regarding the BSODs, I'm using 377.88 Nivida drivers version (I tried with an older version and I have the same problem)
I installed the standalone with the installer
My Nvidia cards are not connected so I presume SLI is not activated, by the way I checked in the Nvidia settings and didn't find any parameter relating to SLI, probably because there is no connection.
