Hi,
as Octane 2 introduces the new texture transformation which has no directly corresponding feature in Octane 1.x, all transformed scenes currently show an identity transformation.
There was however an u/v texture scaling in Octane 1.x. It would be great if the plugin could automatically convert those scaling figures into the new transform matrix.
This should simplify the upgrade.

In most cases, the color channel will immediately pop into the eye, but in some cases where tiling texture maps are applied to bump channels, it could take some time to find out
which nodes have to be adjusted.

Best regards,
Michael

Hi Michael

The plugin does actually attempt to convert the 1.2 "scale" to a 1.5/2.0 transform, however the success of this depends on the version of the plugin the scene was originally saved with. I some cases you will need to "Reconvert This Material From Poser" in order to have the plugin pick up the correct scale. My understanding is that it's only an issue when loading old pz3 file saved with old versions of the plugin, so it should not impact you when creating new scenes.

Does that answer your question?

Hi Paul,
thanks for the fast response. Yes, this only occurs for scenes saves with 1.0... 1.2 and existing Octane materials.
All new scenes are transferred correctly.

In some existing scenes I have done a "Save as Poser material" for the Octane material changes. For those, the proposed reconversion will not fix it,
the contents of the "OR4P|scale|float2|..." node is not reflected in the Octane material.

Best regards,
Michael

In this case, delete the Octane material from the Poser material. Use the "Delete Octane Nodes From Poser Material" rightclick mouse command on the Materials tab to do this.
