Hi all

This is my first post in this forum , this is a simple shot done with Octane + 3ds max , hope you like it :)

but there is a little noise on the table and sofa :cry: , is it normal ???
output size : 2048 x 1556
Kernal: PMC at max samples 1300 , Max depth : 8 caustic blur : 0.5 time : 30 min with GTX Titan Black

Nice. You can try changing caustic blur value and/or use hotpixel option to fix that noise.

Thanks alot :)

I decreased the hotpixel removal to 0 but I feel the image lost a little of its sharpness

Yeah, you probably never want to put the value to 0, try .3 to .5 values and then check again, another thing to is take the image into an image editing application such as photoshop and add slight noise over the whole image to bring back some sharpness. What about filter size setting, check you have it set to a value of 1.2. Also there still does seem to be noise on the table despite the overall image being quite clean. Can you lower the resolution of your light emitters to help reduce this.

the noise comes from the candle.
turn off the flame, try to lower the emission and add the flare in ps.

Thanks a lot guys I found the problem :D

I increased the emissions samples rate to maximum value and all the noise was gone immediately :D :D :D

very nice render. You mentioned you increased emissions samples. is it the one that says SAMPLES: 1 bellow all the octane lights?

Yes that's sample which also exist in the blackbody emissions properties
