I have noticed that octane Max v2.0 render much slower than V1.55.
I've tested a scene with V1.55 at 2.2 Msamples/sec, the same scene with v2.0 drop down to 1.8/1.9 Msamples/sec.
Can someone confirm ?

It is out. The upgrade is 99 euro. Click on the Octane home page and it will take you right to the links to buy or upgrade.

I confirm. It looks like on the few scenes that I have tested, which were fairly complex that it is roughly 25% slower. However I did notice that adding displacement and rounded corners did not increase the render time much, if at all. Also the memory did not seem to go up at all with adding displacement which I don't know how that is possible even on the higher levels of detail. Still playing around, so all this is just early observations.

Thank for your test, I hope this is just a kind of "not too nasty bug" that can be resolved. :?:

Any one find out how to save out render passes? Or is this just a feature for standalone version?

Render passes is a feature for 2.x not 2.0.

I guess it's not implemented yet.

I agree a 20-25% hit in speed will not work if you don't need to use the new features in some scenes. I wonder if it could be that it is defaulting all objects to have motion blur with 2 samples. Could this have an effect on the speed of the scene?

it seems plausible

Just grabbed everything in the scene and shut off motion blur. It didn't change the scene or render speed at all since none of my objects were moving. So that is not it.
