Question for OS X users

I know it's an unpopular standpoint, but I'm running Mavericks on my Mac Pro and have had zero issues with it. To be honest, this system has been rock solid since I bought it in 2010, despite having a non-standard GPU, two hard drives and an SSD.
Just an update. At the beginning of this week I upgraded from 10.8.5 to 10.9.3 and the latest NVIDIA web driver. Then installed two Titan Blacks (same chip as the 780Ti) and OSX and Octane are running fine. Quite fast, actually. As it should be for that kind of investment.mustardseedsg wrote:Any any issues with the latest mavericks update 10.9.3?
And btw, what your Octane C4d benchmark score with your setup?
Thanks again!
I am sorry to say that since I updated Mavericks necessarily to be able to use the GTX´s I do not stop having craches of the computer of an intermittent way. I have the WEBDRIVER and the CUDA Driver updated to the last thing (I check it every day) and though Octane recognizes the graphs without problems the SO it does not go so thin as it was making it Mountain Lion. An information to bearing in mind, if you want reset the PRAM have taken care so the WEB DRIVER uninstall itself (I ignore why) and though the mac starts the screens they are in black.
Nevertheless I recommend them 780Ti for mac, the cudas works fine with Octane and Cinema.
One question, i would like install the fourth grafic card, one GTX TITAN Black on my mac pro in the first pci conector (the up conector neart to hard drives), has someone managed to install a double graph in this space?
Peace
(I ask for excuses for my english, am using Internet translator, i´m from spain)

I've been digging around a bit.
Did you have to modify you power supply to hold 2 of the titans? I have a single 780 on my system and have been having intermittent crashes (OS and all) so was looking to get a second card, but am concerned I may not have the power to handle both of them without modifying the system.

Just now my Mac Pro has two GTX 780 ti and a GTX Titan Black installed. The form that they are connected is the following: 780 ti in PCI express 1 and the Titan Black in Pci express 2 both on an external power supply Corsair CX750M. In the PCI express 4 there is another GTX 780 ti connected by a cable of PCI and a external power supply Cooler Master of 600W. This does not have physical space inside the Mac, it is out supported in the air by means of a box of wood that I have together with the mac.
Certainly the door of the Mac is opened. For the moment it goes two months without any problem or crashes. The Nvidia Web Driver is 334.01.02f02. The CUDA Driver is 6.0.54. The OSX is 10.9.4. For if to someone he is interested, now that we are in summer, the temperatures, as iSTAT MENU 3, they are just now; environment 39ºC, CPU1, to full performance of render with OCTANE RENDER 2.4.1 with three graphs working, between 68ºC and 71ºC, rarely it reaches them 80ºC.
I hope that it serves the info you. A greeting.

Been running this system for a year now with no issues in Mavericks. Does not work in Yosemite yet, so watch out when that comes out in October.

weegee and SVITadmin, are your cards also able to accelerate other CUDA/GPU aware apps (After Effects/Photoshop) or only Octane?
Mac OSX 10.12.6 / MBP 15" w Touch Bar, 16GB / Mantiz Venus Thunderbolt 3 enclosure with GX1080 / C4d r19 Octane
I don´t have any problem with those programs, only with After Effects you need activated the GPU raytracer if when you install the gpu After Effects does not recognize the card. I don´t remember now how i do it, but if you make a google search thera are too many info. The process was very simple.
Certainly I cannot say if it accelerates the work with these programs to have the installed cards, since I do not make too much use of these applications, before having the graphs not now, for what it might not say if really there is improvement. Probably someone could clarify this point.
Peace

I attach images of three cards mounted in the mac pro, the system is a bit chaotic but it works, and it is what I need.
