In fact didn't have much time to test and probably the game scene was not to "tough" for GPU - but today I got 50% TDP with game.
But I remember few days ago at some very complex and filled with geometry scene in the game I reached 80C degree on my 780Ti and this GPU never reaches 73C while rendering.

So I assume that it was because of the memory load. And this must use more power.

That's all good new for us Octane users of course. But I'd still love to hear why.

Maybe it has something to do with the gpu's architecture. Unlike gaming, rendering possibly does not utilise the whole streaming processor with its shader units and texture units. I think it depends on what the cuda cores have to do regarding what power the card draws.
