Actual i'm searching out parts to update my mufasa build (EVGA Sr-2 with 2x 5650 / 48 Gig Ram.....). My plan is to use a 2 way SLI. Later i would add a third GTX 780.......

Now I'm worried about fan design. Is it ok to stack dual fan coolers or should i use cards from EVGA with the ACX design ?

Another question is...... What did you think to use a good old quadro 4000 for editing and the GTX 780 only for gpu rendering ? Please note.... this build should not be used as gaming rig

Thx for any comment !

p.s.: Can´t wait..... i hope the octane 2.0 release for sketchup comes closer :?

ACX seems a very promising cooling design. Gigabyte has windforce with 2-3 fans too. If You're using those keep in mind to choose cards without backplates - these would reduce the gap between GPU's that effects natural airflow & then it doesn't matter how good Your cooler is.

Personally I do preffer stock blower type coolers as they tend to reduce the heat in case blowing all the heat out. If You choose other type try to provide a lot of airflow..otherwise rising temps will effect cooling efficiency & because of higher tems fans will start spining faster or heat will 'cause throttling down (stability issues might come too).

Leave You quadro plugged & use it for monitor - sytem will be snappier & You have more usable vRAM available for rendering tasks =)
