Hi, here is a new rendering made with octane.

My question is, how can I activate the caustics which should appear behind the glas of water???

best regards

1. Very nice scene.
2. Give some details on the scene please. Which kernel, what settings.
3. If you used unbiased kernels (Pathtracing,PMC) why do you think there is no caustic? :)
Maybe there is but the light source is so wide, it's just not seen?

Give some more details on lighting too so we can understand the scene built method better.

I'm baffled. What company serves fried eggs on their flights!? And ham? ACTUAL HAM!
This is science fiction.

That being said, I doubt you'll get any caustics out of that light setup. You're going to need something less omnidirectional. Also what slepy8 said.

Why don't you turn off the natural light, and light with an artificial overheads like in real seats.

This setup may give you the caustics you seek, as well as framing your subject beautifully. May also make the food more appetizing.

Make sure fake shadows is off for caustics.

My humble opinion only. =]

best,

Thank you for the tip. I think fake caustics are on, maybe thats the problem. Here is a little animation made out of it.
