Looks great on the website. Slick. Like to buy it but, the demo scenes provided cause the program to crash and the object files provided do the same thing. Ran CUDA-Z (results below).
Add --> Object --> Mesh --> Select demo obj, click on created node... program closes without warning.
Add --> Object --> Mesh --> Select wavefront obj file created in Carrara, click on created node... program closes without warning.
File --> Open --> select Demo Octane Benchmark Trench (CLICK ME), click on node (it says CLICK ME after all!)... program closes without warning.
Installed as admin. Run as admin. Demo scenes in C:\A (simplest folder name - tried other folders - no difference). Win7 Professional 64bit, 12GB RAM. 10k Raptor 150 GB HD, 35 GB free space.
Maybe my video card just can't work with this software? Maybe the OS? Any ideas? Other things to try?
Watched the video - wish mine would work like that. Tried the last 2 or 3 demo releases. All the same. What about NET framework or Redistributables? Should I be looking into those? Are there specific requirements somewhere? Other than "Window XP (32 or 64 bit) / Windows Vista (32 or 64 bit) / Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) / Linux 64 bit (and) Current CUDA 3.0 Software Drivers (http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html)"?

Help? Please?
Hopeful future customer.

Mark

Hi Mark,
Which Nvidia drivers do you have installed? I didn't see that in your post. Sorry if I missed that.
System 1: EVGA gtx470 1280Mb and MSI gtx470 1280 in Cubix Xpander for Octane, AMD 945, 4Gb Ram
All systems are at stock speeds and settings.

Maybe try to start looking at your driver. The cuda driver isn't the most stable driver and it's used for SDK user and people who are code savy. I think you would be much better off with commercial graphics driver. Also, sometimes... computer just doesn't like you. For example, my work computer has a nice habit of not letting 3DS Max play well with other programs. I can't watch a DVD while using MAX, I can't burn DVD with MAX and I get constant blue screen of death with latest version of graphics driver. Cause of this, I will never buy a DELL computer for my personal use. Hopefully you are not stucked with an evil computer like the one I use at work. Good luck.
