Two things:

This is the first version I have used that did not ask for the license key. :?:

Changing resolutions still crashes Octane now and again, at least under Ubuntu64.

The material selection bug which I reported for RC3 is still there. Otherwise, nice release!

yeah still makes my FX570 the active GPU rather than my GTS250.
simple to change I suppose but slightly annoying...
..and the colour loss to white bug when changing mat type to specular is still there too.. ;)

ah well  I guess we let the Refractive team push on with development and these things will get fixed eventually 8-)

Update1: With an other scene it doesn't crashes but at 4096 x 2048 the image stay black

Just downloaded the latest beta. Very nice! I'm using other pieces of software that try to do the same and they're not even close.

Also, just to compliment you guys on the manual and the general UI. I've been doing this kind of stuff a long time and it's good to see software that does what it says and operates the way you think it should :)

Keep up the good work.

Hi,

We cannot reproduce it...
I think you need to run octane on a headless 2nd GPU so there is no video driver timeout on OS X.
Windows has registry settings to turn this off, but linux and mac don't.

I'm finding if I change a material from Glossy to Diffuse or visa versa I crash. Sometimes it takes switching back and forth a few times.

Also, the tonal range of the new procedural noises is so subtle as to almost not be seen. The turbulance one is perfect with a nice range from black to white. Is there some trick to getting marble and ridgedfractal to have the same tonality? I'm just getting white to a value of about 30% grey.

Thanks.
