hello everyone!
in this scene i have imported a obj sequence, it's a fluid simulation done in blender and imported in c4d frame by frame.
each obj has a visibility tag tag makes it visible for just one frame, so if i push the play button i have the entire sequence playing.
but things aren't working properly, sometimes c4d crashes, sometimes i have a black frame and other times i have the render done right.
so i think that the reasons why things aren's so smooth could be 2:
1 visibility tag doesn't work properly in octane and there is another way of doing the visibility thing with octane
2 everything is kinda fucked op because my meshes are very heavy (i have a scene of 1gb each frame, i am rendering on a laptop with a 770 gtx 3gb, not exactly a work station)
visibility tag

first things first:
1. terminology: there is noch such thing as a "visibility tag". either you´re talking about the c4d "display tag" or the c4doctane "object tag". please let us know about the exact tag you´re using.
you might consider changing the topic´s subject.
2. the general workflow seems kind of adventurous to me. especially if you´re using the "display tag". I always tried to avoid adjusting visibility through this one. all the more when using octane.

what's the max polygon count of this mesh?
Octane For Cinema 4D developer / 3d generalist

If Blender is able to export a .MDD file, you should have a look to the Pro version of Riptide (a very good Wavefront .OBJ and .MDD importer/exporter). Your scene will be easier to handle and you'll not have to play with visibility tags. https://skinprops.com/news.php2 everything is kinda fucked op because my meshes are very heavy (i have a scene of 1gb each frame, i am rendering on a laptop with a 770 gtx 3gb, not exactly a work station)
The website is a little bit funky but the plugin is a must have.

my apologies the tag is called display tag
i know the workflow is not ideal. infact my c4d file quite large, 3gb.
every mesh has more or less 1 million poly.
i will check the plugin suggested. i have already bought this one http://www.c4dzone.com/it/shop/plug-in- ... -0-156.htm
but it doesn't work properly.
should have i used the octane object tag to do this scene?
