Hi All,

Have only recently come back to rendering after some ongoing health issues and noticed 1.5 release so immediately installed.

First attempt at a render and i have come across a strange effect when plugging a hdri image into the environment. The light seems to be split into sections of varying intensity, as demonstrated in the attached image. While i was off i was still reading these forums and im sure i remember reading/seeing something like this but cant seem to find it. I am assuming it is something simple that i am missing. I have tried changing the projection node but seems to be the same no matter what settings i use.

What version of the plugin are you on? Try the latest 1.52 TEST release to mark sure you are on the latest.

Is your HDRI map a lat/long format? It needs to be - don't use spherical or cubic.

If it's EXR or HDR, set gamma to 1.

Check if "smooth" is enabled on your object.

I should have thought of that. It was smoothing on the backdrop prop. Disabled by default now?

Go into the plugin Setup window, and tick "Smooth Default" to set smoothing on by default. This should be ticked by default.
