Thank you face for your fast support ;)
oook , I did a new scene from scratch and this time the Mental Ray and Octane passes seem to match... pfiuuu. Don't know what happened but Fov is ok now
I still have problems with the MotionBlur Pass but I think it's a MentalRay issue.

Nevertheless, I've been working on a little camera rig with automated DoF Focus Planes Hud (Near focus in blue, Far focus in red).
They react interactively to the focal length , aperture (in f-stop), Focus point (yellow null) and aspect ratio.

Sometimes a simple save the scene, close/start XSI and load the scene can help.
This are the little weird things that XSI make ;)

Last thing to do is to figure out the formula to convert a "classic" aperture value in f-stop used here to the logarithmic values used by Octane... any ideas? :ugeek:

Edit: according to this post the value used by Octane is the aperture Radius length (in mm?)

Maybe offer an option so you can use F16, F8 etc... in the same way it is planned to offer camera rot. in degrees.
does anyone have any information source or table relating those values to actual aperture radius lengths ?
Radiance
So, the formula to convert the aperture should be:
(fl / apt)/2 = o_apt

fl: focal length in mm
apt: camera aperture in f-stop
o_apt: octane aperture in mm

And it does seem to work

there you have it, interactive dof control and on the fly convertion from f-stop to octane aperture! :D

At the moment i occupied me with the integration of the UV-Values in my obj-export ;)
Very weird, hope that is work anytime...

Hi All

This is first time I am posting here. I was messing with XSI exporter, and I found some strange behaviour. I was rendering animation in Octane. Exported OBJ file has 24 MB. After 50 frames of rendering, My system completely stopped working. Windows said, that it is because of page file size. OK, so I started to render it once again. This time I was checking the Page File usage. After 50 frames (just before system dead end) it was 14 gigabytes! So I had to render the animation in 30 frames segments.
It seems, that Softimage is still eating more and more Page File while exporting to Ocatne. Does anybody experienced similar behaviour?

Which Softimage version you use?

Right, every time i export, Softimage added 5MB.
Likely a memory leak.
I will check that...

I do not understand coding, but how it is possible to get 14 gigs page file after 50 frames?.... seems that memory leak or something like this is cycling and inreasing PF usage.
