Here are the infos extrapolated from the GTC presentation:
● Octane 2.0 release: summer 2014
● Upgrade from 1.x to 2.0: €99
● Octane 2.x release: end of 2014

Octane 2.x features:

● Deformable object motion blur (apparently this will NOT be part of Object motion blur of version 2.0 :( )
● Ultra fast out of core CPU texture (I have no idea what this is)
● User defined GPU procedurals via Lua (these are stuff for developers I guess)
● Render passes for all channels (finally!)
● Reflections, refractions, GI, sss, etc (I guess this is related with the above feature)
● Multi-layered .EXR output

Adobe Creative Cloud integrated plug-ins:

● Adobe Photoshop
● Adobe After Effects

This video has already been linked to, so some may already know about these planned features.

I already don't have enough system RAM to fill my 3GB GPUs... I hope that it will not eat more, as I can't add more in my machine.

Ya, i watched the video too, so I didnt comment.

The video was very insightful and answered a lot of my questions. I wonder if there are more videos than the 2 posted. I haven't seen anything official from Nvidia.

Out of core textures is pretty awesome - should mean that it won't be necessary to upgrade your graphics card's VRAM.

Gordon should be excited also by the procedural textures via lua script.

I'm basically way excited by the displacement mapping, the hair and fur and the network rendering thing.

I would imagine it's because many were discussing it from the 2.0 announcement thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=38935

Regardless thanks for posting the video link. The upgrade price is a no-rainer for me. Can't wait for displacement in OR!!
