I am giving up... I have just received my new Dell notebook with nvidia FX 1800M and was very excited to test the new GPU-renderer. But... it did not work: "No cuda capable devices found...".
It seems that the dell drivers for the nvidia graphic card do not include cuda 3.0. So I tried to update with the newest drivers of the nvidia-website but I was not able to install any of them.
What can I do? Am I not allowed to use Octane?
Thanks in advance.
Dell Precision M4500 / nvidia FX 1800M / no cuda 3.0?

"Das NVIDIA-Setup-Programm konnte keine Treiber finden, die mit der aktuellen Hardware kompatibel sind. Installation wird beendet."
-> translation: the nvidia setup program could not find any driver which is compatible with the current hardware. Installation is closed.
I downloaded the drivers for the FX1800M but the installation program cannot find any driver??? What does this mean?
Thanks in advance.

@ radiance:
Same error message aforementioned.

Hi,
Laptop drivers are a problem in with nvidia cuda as nvidia does'nt provide drivers for them (up to date ones),
they leave that to the OEMs that make the notebooks.
I suggest you contact your support at dell to ask for a newer cuda 3.0 driver,
and wait a bit to see if new notebook drivers may pop up on the nvidia site (and cuda dev site) during the next weeks.
Unfortunately there is not much we can do about this, it's up to nvidia.
