Hi,

I want to render my jewelry, I create them in rhino, then render it in stand alone version of octane. I don't have the rhino plugin yet. (as i'm not using octane for my renders yet. (not getting the results i want)

So my question is, Does units matter? Like the rhino file is in milimeters. And i heared octane is in meters.

Should i create a big ass ring in meters in rhino ?

then import it in octane? I don't have problems with the camera, i can adjust it and get my focus on it, but what's the right way to do it?

cheers cg panda

Yes, Octane is in meters. I think in Standalone you can convert from whatever units to meters when importing. The Rhino plugin does all the conversion for you. For jewelry, this means they render in Octane as "small" objects, so the default camera settings like "Aperture" need to be reduced substantially. Have you tried the plugin demo? If you are not happy with the render results, post your render here and we can fire suggestions to you.
