Another strange behavior:
If you have light source and a HDRI Environment in your scene.
If you go in to your HDRI image and slide the power slider to 0 (zero) the lights are getting displayed wrong. (Seems like only the GI is the light is displayed but not the direct light!
I´m not sure if this is a Standalone error or one of the C4D plugin.
Cheers,
Raphael

why can't use it? because of this problem. Recently i'm notified for this problem. Really, arealights are not scaling with scene scale factor. This and a few bugs has been fixed on my development versionSilverwing wrote:Hi Aoktar,
I´m back from the dead after 3 month of work on a project where I was not able to use octane.
I noticed a thing with the 1.18 SDK 1.33
If you scale the scene:
For example setting the Project scale from Centimeters to Millimeters in the Project settings (Crtl + D)
If you have Arealights (Lights with an Octane Light Tag) in your scene. They are not scaled with the scene!
So in the example of the Scene scaled from Centimeters to Millimeters the Lights are to big by a factor of 10.

yes, i think it's a bug. we will look it. Please don't use hdr for black environment until it's fixed. Use a rgb nodeSilverwing wrote:Another strange behavior:

"why can't use it?"
Oh no don´t worry. I was working on site in Munich and the project was based on Vray. Nothing to do with Octane. Just my explanation why I didn´t post anything during the last 3 Months.
I´m glad I am back home now and have the opportunity to work with octane again
Here´s another thing I noticed:
I tried to mix Two HDRI´s with a Mix Texture in the HDRI slot.
It seems C4D wont let me load enything else then an HDRI in there...
I know that it´s better to mix those HDRI´s in Photoshop and save it as a new one.
But I liked to play around in the Octane and mix HDRI´s till I got the perfect mix amount and then go into Photoshop and make me a new HDRI.
Problem:
It seems Environment Tag is limited to either use a RGB Spectrum or a Image texture!
Thanks!
Raphael

nice. Environment has not a limitation for textures, i remember that used some mixing system there.Silverwing wrote:"why can't use it?"

Might be a stupid question... but where do I find the latest built of your development version?

I can only find the 1.18a. But those people are speaking of a 1.18b version.
EDIT:
Just figured out. For all problems I have encountered (comments above) I was running with the 1.18test1 and not the 1.18a (SDK 1.33) *** 26.02.2014*** Version.
Memory leak is fixed in the 1.18a Version. Great
Sorry for messing around! I guess I have to find the structure again
Cheers,
Raphael

Hi Aoktar,
thanks for the new test version.
Will try it out these days more intensively, but from a first test with the SSS2-Dragon, it looks fine.
Extremely usefull is the GPU-info-HUD in the Live viewer.
Please keep that also in future versions as it helps a lot to keep the overview over the running GPU's.
BR,
Ralf
