what about the 1500 mb limit of the cards memory? any solution ? Can octane render scenes more than 1.5 gb ? Is it true that it cant render scenes heavier than 1.5 gb?

yes, but there are workaround, using procedural textures which take no memory at all.
the 2.2 which will be released in a few days to public users will have this functionality.

you can use all 3 cards together to get very fast speeds, but you'll only be able to use the lowest of the cards , eg 1280mb for your scene.
the scene needs to be copied into all 3 cards.

would two cards like this solve the problem with the memory?:

PNY Tesla C1060, Quadro FX 5800, 4096MB GDDR3

the rule is simply, you can use your GPU's memory.
if you render with more than one GPU, you're limited to the smallest of the GPUs that you're using.
