Hi.

I am curious about two things concerning LiveDB:
1. How do you attach a preview to an upload? I can get my material onto LiveDB, but there is no preview.
2. Is it possible to delete an upload from LiveDB? I have tried to attempts at getting a preview to show up and now have to copies of my material online of the same name.

Hi treddie,

The image previews are automatically generated by us. (It may take some time before these appear).
Just let me know the names of the items you want deleted and i can get rid of them for you.

Thanks
Chris.

Oh OK. The two materials are named "Metal Flake Car Paint". Either one is fine for the final upload.

I also had put it into the Misc folder which may not be the best spot. Maybe Non-Organic/Paint?

Thanks, Chris!

Someone mentioned these things and I thought this would be a more proper area to mention it to get a feedback from the developers:

- You can't upload materials from plugins. Is that generally true? Why? Can we fix this? Since many are using plugins, this is a real showstopper to LiveDB
- You cant export/import single materials ... I assume this meant by file, so you can trade around files

I'd love more love for the LiveDB ... it's such a cool feature and currently seems to be hindered. Upload of materials from anywhere would help bigtime ... and also some sort of management, so materials can be sorted into proper categories ... currently, there's way to much stuff under "miscellaneous", which should be in proper categories etc ..... sort of like wikipedia, everybody can help cleaning up everything :)
